Switching to simple living? YouTube. Broken down car? YouTube. Learning to cook? YouTube. Trying to travel hack? YouTube. Hysterical cat videos? YouTube.
Whenever I’m trying to figure something out that seems unfigureoutable (TY Marie Forleo), I turn to YouTube. I’ve found that all of life’s little questions can be answered by a 7-10 minute video on the number one search engine on the planet. I use it so much; it’s my new TV.
And if you’re trying to downsize, declutter and free yourself from all the stuff in your life – YouTube is your best friend. Sure, reading books are handy too, but there’s nothing like getting a visual on how someone lives their life. It’s inspiring to watch someone else go through the process.
Enter my favorite simple living YouTubers. They’re my go to for simple living when I’m throwing my arms up in the air in frustration, or just need a dose of inspiration.

I’m addicted to Aileen’s channel. Her story is inspiring and I guess I can relate as I’m on a similar journey, although at a later stage in life. I enjoy her perspective on self-love and learning to let go of a lot of the crap (both mental and physical) in life. I love her closet tours, how to pack a carry on and the Artist of Life series. For me, as a creative, this channel is soul nuturing. And although it’s a bit more millennial oriented, I still find it useful.

Anthony has a no nonsense approach to intentional, simple living. He gets it. He understands that a tangled mess of Christmas lights should be the least of your worries during the holidays. And he gets you laughing. This channel is perfect for those looking to live a more intentional, clutter free life.

I can’t remember exactly how I came across Alyse’s Raw Alignment channel but I adore her tips. Wait, it was something Hawaii related. Anyways, her videos are all about eating, raw natural meals and her successful journey. I’ll admit that some videos are “interesting” and uber hippyish – see the Why I stopped shaving everything video and pros and cons of dreadlocks, but who am I to judge? I found them interesting because I’ve only come across two women IRL that didn’t shave their armpits. Regardless, she’s awesome as is her channel. It focuses on empowerment, veganism, self-love, minimalism and fitness.

This channel is exactly that. Peaceful. It’s so peaceful it’s almost meditative. And unbelievably simple. The videos walk you through prepping food calmly and peacefully. Seriously. Simply sit and watch one, you’ll be mesmerised and not realize you’re learning something at the same time.
